Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you use KidneyPass.
Effective:
Who we are and what this policy covers
KidneyPass is a public reference site for finding and comparing Medicare-certified dialysis facilities in the United States. This policy covers kidneypass.com and its browser-based tools.
Our terms of service explain the rules for using the site. See the data page for source and freshness details.
What we do not collect directly
KidneyPass has no accounts or registration. It has no contact or data-submission form that sends your entries to a KidneyPass application server. The site is a static export, with no KidneyPass backend or database that receives visitor input.
Location search
Location search works from the ZIP, city, or state you type. Search matching and distance calculations run in your browser; entries are not submitted to a KidneyPass backend. KidneyPass does not currently request browser geolocation.
Analytics with PostHog
We use PostHog product analytics through its EU cloud endpoint. PostHog receives a pageview when the route or query string changes, the full current page URL, page-leave events, and interactions collected by its default autocapture feature. Person profiles are configured for identified users only; KidneyPass has no account flow that identifies visitors.
Depending on the PostHog project setting, analytics may include session replays with all typed input masked. PostHog receives the IP address used for an analytics request and can derive an approximate location from it. The KidneyPass static application does not directly receive or store that request IP.
Read the PostHog privacy policy.
Cookies and your controls
PostHog's default persistence stores a random device identifier in a ph_* cookie and in local storage. KidneyPass does not currently show a consent banner or provide an analytics opt-out control. You can use your browser to block or clear cookies and site data; clearing site data removes the analytics identifier stored in that browser.
The site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals.
Hosting
Cloudflare Pages hosts and delivers the site. Cloudflare may process request logs, including IP addresses, to operate and secure the service. Cloudflare's handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy.
No ads, sale, or advertising sharing
KidneyPass does not display ads or sell personal information. It does not share personal information for targeted advertising or for third parties' own purposes. PostHog and Cloudflare process data only as described above; the site uses no other trackers.
Third-party links
KidneyPass links to CMS, Medicare, facility websites, and other independent sites. Their privacy policies and practices apply when you visit them.
Children
KidneyPass is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or its services change. The effective date at the top will show when the current version began to apply.
Contact
KidneyPass does not yet publish a contact mailbox; this page will be updated when one is available.
